The Brindishe Federation is seeking to appoint an experienced, aspirational and highly motivated SENDCo to join our established and committed team. This is a unique opportunity to work across two of our three schools, Brindishe Manor and Brindishe Lee, supporting inclusive practice and high-quality provision for pupils with special educational needs and disabilities.
The Role
The successful candidate will work alongside the Inclusion Team, to provide the operational oversight of SEND provision across both schools, working collaboratively with senior leaders, teachers and external professionals. The role requires an individual who is child-centred, reflective and proactive, and who is committed to ensuring high expectations for the achievement and wellbeing of all pupils.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Be an experienced SENDCo with a strong understanding of statutory SEND requirements
- Demonstrate excellent knowledge of adaptive teaching and inclusive learning strategies
- Support and coach teachers in planning effective adaptations within the classroom
- Work collaboratively to develop an engaging, challenging curriculum that enables all children to make strong progress
- Show creativity, commitment and the ability to work flexibly across two school settings
- Be confident in working with external agencies, including Lewisham SEND advisory and outreach services
Our Schools
Like many schools, we are responding to an increasing number of pupils with additional needs. Both Brindishe Manor and Brindishe Lee place a strong emphasis on Quality First Teaching, professional development and inclusive classroom practice. Staff benefit from a wide range of SEND-focused CPD, with a particular emphasis on practical, in-class adaptations that support pupil success.
