Inclusion Quality Mark Award

Brindishe Green has been awarded the Inclusion Quality Mark (IQM). This award recognises and celebrates schools who work hard to ensure that children and families feel included and valued in their school. The assessors are looking for schools where the teaching, learning, achievement, attitude and wellbeing of each child matters and where each individual can overcome any barrier to their learning and be successful.

Our assessor, Barry Gilhooley, spent two days at the school, meeting and interviewing staff, children, parents/carers, governors and the many therapists and teams who work with us. His report reflects the wide range of evidence he collected during his visit.

Brindishe Green is described as ‘an impressive, innovative, welcoming, friendly and inclusive school within which an ethos of high expectations, trust and commitment makes its motto of ‘together we’re more’ come alive in practice’. The children who met the assessor commented that ‘teachers are kind and they listen’, ‘there are many adults to talk to’ and ‘we can give our opinions to our teachers’.

The report concludes by saying that the school’s ‘belief that all pupils can and will achieve is unshakeable and is at the root of the school’s ability to remove barriers to learning within a spirit of trust and high expectations for all’.
